Eleven passengers died and several others were injured in a tragic road accident along the Wundayi-Mwatate road in the Josa area.
The passengers had been attending a funeral in the Mgambonyi area when the bus they were travelling in lost control due to brake failure and plunged down a slope.
The injured passengers were rushed to nearby hospitals in Mwatate and Voi for treatment. The bodies of the deceased were taken to Moi Hospital.
Police officers have commenced investigations into the accident and are advising drivers who are unfamiliar with the route to exercise caution.
