In Eldoret town, members of the Kikuyu community who live in the vast North Rift region have endorsed Deputy President William Ruto. According to Tuko News, Ruto’s protest, which drew thousands of people, provided the ideal opportunity for the Elders of the Agikuyu community in the area.
The elders did so during an occasion in which the deputy president is the special guest of honor at an ongoing political rally at the Eldoret Sports Club, which has drawn leaders from all walks of life to show their support for him.
This is a huge boost for a leader who has been chastised for criticizing the government he is a part of. In fact, it is because of him that President Uhuru Kenyatta teamed up with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to strengthen the government’s ability to pass bills in Parliament.
Even as everything plays out in front of our eyes, political analysts say William Ruto continues to enjoy widespread popularity in the region. He is so powerful that he has managed to suffocate the chances of his boss’s Jubilee party in his own backyard.
The majority of politicians planning to run for politics have abandoned the shell and are now members of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) or Chama Cha Kazi, which is led by Gatundu Sounth Member of Parliament Moses Kuria.
