Uhuru Kenyatta has made it clear that he will continue to serve in some capacities after stepping down as president.
In his farewell address to the people of Mount Kenya, the outgoing Head of State promised to work with the new administration to protect the interests of the region’s citizens.
He went on to say that he wasn’t leaving, but rather changing jobs. He stated that he would continue to exist and work with the new government, whether for DP Ruto or Raila Odinga.
He also admitted that he will be leaving Mount Kenya in the capable hands of human rights advocate and iron lady Martha Karua.
Uhuru also urged Mount Kenyans to embrace peace and unity in the run-up to the country’s general elections.
“It is past time for Mount Kenyans and the rest of the country to recognize that our country is greater than anyone else’s. Vote in large numbers whenever possible “Uhuru stated.
