Hon Veronica Maina, Secretary General of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), has finally broken her silence following the academic woes of Nairobi Senator Hon Johnson Sakaja, who is running for governor of Nairobi County on the UDA ticket.
Veronica Maina blamed those attempting to obstruct Sakaja in an interview with Citizen TV earlier this morning, saying they are engaging in partisan politics rather than bringing all those with questionable academic documents to justice.
According to her, the institution where former Prime Minister Raila Odinga received his higher education is questionable, yet he was cleared by IEBC without being questioned, just as Hon Johnson Sakaja is being cleared by IEBC.
“The qualifications of a candidate should not be viewed through the lens of one Candidate, but rather as a broader public question of what credential should be used,” Mrs Veronica Maina said.
“The institution Raila Odinga graduated from has been a source of speculation,” she added. It is unclear whether the IEBC will take her words seriously and question ODM party leader Hon Raila Odinga.
