Resign and go home! – Kalonzo dares Ruto

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has dared his United Democratic Alliance counterpart and Kenya Kwanza presidential hopeful William Ruto to resign instead of castigating  the government which he serves in.

Ruto has been openly blaming the  Jubilee government that he serves as the deputy president for for the high cost of living, soaring fuel prices and youth unemployment crisis.

However, speaking during Azimio la Umoja One Kenya campaign tour in Thika, Kiambu County on Wednesday, Kalonzo dared  the DP to simply  resign from his role and stop pointing fingers.

“In all democratic countries in the world, the most honourable thing to do is to resign… you cannot have your own cake and eat it,”  Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo further labelled Ruto as an irresponsible leader for failing to tender his resignation when he fell out with his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“This is the dictatorship of the highest order, we must be responsible. At that level of leadership, you cannot differ with your boss and stay in the same office. It is not decent,” he remarked.

Kalonzo gave example of himself as the deputy of the late President Mwai Kibaki when he maintained a relationship with the departed head of state.

“The Deputy President is a very temperamental person, I was Kibaki’s Vice President and I have never spoken ill of him, that level of leadership requires responsibility. You can’t differ with your boss and stay in the same office, it’s not decent,” he said.

Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege who had accompanied the Wiper leader also described Ruto as an angry and intolerable leader.

“I am not vying for any elective seat in Murang’a, and I am sure you have seen people who after sensing defeat, they have developed some anger issues,” Chege said.
