Raila’s deputy, Martha Karua, has already arrived and is meeting with teachers from across the country. The meeting aims to discuss, among other things, what the Azimio administration has planned ahead of their inauguration as president in August.
The meeting comes just days after Ruto met with university presidents, who also signed an agreement with him on the future of the education sector. The meeting today was attended by leaders from KUPPET and KNUT, which are in charge of running the country’s educational affairs.
After the meeting, Martha and Raila are expected to tour Kiambu in an effort to popularize the Azimio team, which has been making inroads in Mount Kenya in recent days. Martha has played an important role in Raila’s quest to summit the mountain.
