“No one asked you,” Miguna advises Gachagua on campaign strategy after what he said today.

Miguna Miguna, a lawyer, has criticized United Democratic Alliance presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua’s campaign strategy.

During a rally in Nyandarua today, Saturday, June 11, Gachagua promised to change the police uniform. He stated that the current blue uniform, which was part of the reforms brought about by Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, was intended for women of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa. He promised to return the uniform to the color it was during the Kibaki administration.

Miguna expressed his disappointment in Rigathi’s sentiments, asking the Mathira Member of Parliament to campaign for bettering the lives of 50 million Kenyans via his official Twitter handle. He also advised Gachagua to focus his campaign manifesto on social justice, jobs, democracy, and human rights, calling his statement today an unnecessary sideshow.

“Mr Rigathi Gachagua: This is an afterthought. Nobody asked you to change out of your police uniform. Concentrate on the priorities of Kenya’s 50 million citizens: jobs, human rights, democracy, rule of law, electoral and social justice. If not, refrain from speaking at rallies “On Saturday afternoon, Miguna wrote.

In January, the contentious lawyer vowed his support for William Ruto’s presidential campaign. He also praised Ruto’s decision to appoint Gachagua as his deputy, indicating that he was the best candidate for the job in every way.
