Professor Herman Manyora asserted after hearing the presidential election petition that has yet to be filed by the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance team that President-Elect William Ruto is putting his house in order by reaching out to newly elected leaders, which will work in his favor if the Supreme Court orders a rerun.
The Azimio brigade has stated that they will appear before the Supreme Court on Monday, August 22, in an attempt to persuade the court to annul Ruto’s victory on the grounds that the presidential vote was tainted by several irregularities.
Despite the Azimio side’s focus on going to court, Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza Alliance have welcomed a group of leaders, including two governors, senators, and seven members of parliament. Despite Raila’s claim that the presidential election results were unclear, the lawyers want Chebukati’s results to be confirmed in order to protect their bosses. Please, as this case will be heard tomorrow, we need pieces in the county and a strong statement from the Supreme Court.
