A man has been arrested by police in Wanguru police station, Mwea East, Kirinyaga County for allegedly defiling his two-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
The incident occurred when the mother had left the minor behind due to a dispute with her husband.
The toddler’s cries were heard by Kiumbu village residents, who apprehended the suspect after he attempted to flee.
The man was later taken to Kimbimbi dispensary and locked up before the police arrived. Mwea East OCPD James Mutua confirmed the incident, stating that the minor was receiving treatment at Kimbimbi sub-County Hospital, where a medical examination indicated that she had been defiled.
