Jimmy Wanjigi, the presidential candidate of the Safina Party, was barred from running in the upcoming General Elections because he lacked a valid university degree, which transcripts could not equate to.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, IEBC, Disputes Tribunal upheld the decision in a ruling issued a few days ago on Jimmy Wanjigi’s disqualification from the upcoming August election.
According to reliable Nairobi County reports, Jimmy Wanjigi has decided to take the fight to the next level in order to ensure his inclusion on the ballot for the August General Elections.
Wanjigi has taken his case to the High Court in the hopes of being reinstated to the ballot and competing against the other four candidates who were cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission a few weeks ago.
The Safina Party candidate is hopeful of being on the ballot as he takes the IEBC to court, which has recently thrown out election cases and referred them to the IEBC’s Disputes Resolution Committee.
