Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi’s claims that lawmakers had not received their March salary have been dismissed by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah.
In a Twitter statement, Ichung’wah refuted Wandayi’s assertion and advised him to check his account or manage his finances better.
The MP also took the opportunity to criticize the Azimio delegation, noting that the government spends most of the country’s revenues on repaying debts from the previous administration. According to Ichung’wah, salaries for MPs were delayed but were eventually paid on April 5th and 6th.
He suggested that perhaps Wandayi’s salary had been used to pay off personal debts, much like the government’s revenues are used to repay debts.
