Breaking: Two People Arrested In Kinangop Nyandarua Over Transformer Vandalism

Today in Kinangop, two people were detained for transformer vandalism. According to police, the two, 41-year-old Samson Njenga and 34-year-old Ngare Wanjiku, were arrested on Monday evening at their home in possession of a transformer, oil, and spanners.

The two are thought to be part of a gang of thugs who have vandalized electricity transmission equipment in the area. Both have been arrested in connection with transformer robberies in the area. The stolen equipment has also been taken to Nairobi and Nakuru, according to the police in charge of the inquiry.

The power supplier has condemned the theft of power transmission equipment, warning that it contributes to power shortages that locals in the region are experiencing. In addition, a team of detectives accompanied by a Kenyan power team has been dispatched to the region in order to work alongside local police in the ongoing investigations.
