The Kenyan government, through the Ministry of Health, has declared the period of face masks to be finished.
After much deliberation and research into effective ways of preventing the spread of Covid-19, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced on Friday that it is time to lift some restrictions as they have finally paid off.
“Measures put in place to restrict Covid-19 have paid off,” says CS Kagwe. During the pandemic, the national government, in collaboration with counties, was able to save many lives.”
After two arduous years, the strict enforced wearing of masks in public places will come to an end.
Previously, no Kenyan would go in public locations such as Nairobi’s CBD or enter a retail mall without wearing a face mask, but that will change today.
The ruling, however, would have an impact on various enterprises, including mask dealers and hawkers that rely largely on mask sales.
