Jesse Wafula Walukha, a Nairobi-based ICT expert and businessman, has filed documents with the High Court in Nairobi, claiming he had nothing to do with the death of June Jerop Kangogo, an accountant at the National Industrial Training Authority (Nita) in Nairobi.
Kangogo was found dead two weeks ago. Walukha, who is currently in police custody, also stated that he is owed Sh1m by Kangogo, whom he described as a business partner.
He says she owed him the money because he had sold her a salvaged car, and the vehicle was still registered in his name. Walukha is seeking to be released from custody, claiming there is no evidence to link him to Kangogo’s death.
