Agnes Kagure, a Nairobi-based tycoon, has finally endorsed Wiper party candidate Mike Sonko for the Mombasa governorship in the upcoming August election.
Kagure’s significant endorsement of former Nairobi boss Mike Sonko comes at a critical juncture in the duo’s plans to secure county seats in the August 9 election.
Govenor Mike Sonko is running for the Mombasa seat against Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) deputy party leader Ali Hassan Joho in the upcoming election.
Other candidates vying for the same seat include ODM candidate Abdulswamad Nassir of Mvita and former Mombasa senator Hassan Omar.
Agnes Kagure, on the other hand, has adamantly stated that she will run for Nairobi governor as an independent candidate after failing to secure a Jubilee party ticket.
Kagure will compete for city hall with DP Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Johnson Sakaja, Jubilee party candidate Polycap Igathe, and other perceived fringe candidates.
