Senator Kipchumba Murkomen of Elgeyo Marakwet and his Kakamega counterpart Cleophas Malala of Kakamega lambasted Uhuru for bringing politics to the state house.

On Friday, February 11, the head of state hosted nearly 3,000 teenagers from 47 counties to discuss the youth agenda ahead of the August General Election.

/”We want to the president, you have embarrassed both yourself and the state house. Former president Moi endorsed you but he did not do what you are doing today, Please respect the institution of the state house,” he reacted during the Kenya Kwanza rally at Amalemba on Saturday, February 12.

Getting Desperate and Stressed

Uhuru was growing desperate, according to a politician who is one of Deputy President William Ruto’s loyalists, by pressing Raila to be the fifth president.

/”Take your meetings with hecklers to Kamkunji or Embakasi and not the state house. I watched them sing anti-Ruto songs. Isn’t that desperation? You are looking so desperate and stressed, relax,” he added.

Malala encouraged Uhuru to demonstrate his political clout by holding a rally in Kakamega county if he believes he can win.

/”We have seen the Azimio project. President Uhuru is the proprietor of the Azimio La Kenya project. We want to tell him to leave the comfort of state house and come face us here in Navakholo,” he stated.

Uhuru: We’re behind Azimio

The president, who had been restrained for a while due to the tumultuous politics surrounding his succession, said Raila will keep Kenya safe. “Tunataka hii Azimio,” he remarked, emphasizing that Kenya was in desperate need of sound leadership, which he believes would only be attainable under a Raila presidency.

/”Ndio sisi tunataka hii Azimio ambayo itatulteta pamoja (We all want Azimio because it is uniting us all). The time to politick is here now. As Jubilee, we are getting out of the office and now getting to the field,” said the president amid cheers from his audience.
