The long-awaited general election on August 9th is less than fifty days away. Every politician joins a coalition that he believes will address his grievances. As a result, politicians have formed coalitions that may succeed Uhuru’s reign. The Azimio-ONE Kenya Alliance, comprised of ODM, Jubilee, Wiper, KANU, Narc-Kenya, and over twenty other parties, is one of the most successful coalitions. Kenya Kwanza, a coalition comprised of the UDA, Democratic Party, ANC, and Ford Kenya, is another coalition challenging Azimio.
Senior counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi, a Ruto supporter, has spoken out about what Raila Odinga and His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta are doing to Kalonzo Musyoka just days after luring him back to Azimio. He claimed that due to political zoning, the Uhuru-Raila Led coalition is denying Kalonzo Musyoka the opportunity to have members of parliament, county assemblies, and governors.
Mike Sonko, who intends to run on a Kalonzo-led Party Wiper ticket, is having difficulty obtaining clearance for his gubernatorial bid in Mombasa. The IEBC is refusing Sonko a clearance certificate on the grounds that he was impeached, rendering him ineligible to run for any seat in the country.
“Hon Musyoka is being UNDERMINED by H.E UHURU and Hon Raila. After coopting him in Azimio, they are ruthlessly cutting him down to size by ensuring he does not have Governors, Mps, or MCAs… Allow Gov. Sonko to run; his victory is assured…if Uhuru and Raila stop impeding him.” said Ahmednasir Abdullahi.
