Twitter CEO Elon Musk has announced that content creators will now be able to monetize their posts on the platform.
The Monetization tab, which had previously been inactive, will allow creators to offer subscriptions to their followers for any type of material, including text and videos.
According to Musk, creators will receive all the money earned from their posts for the first 12 months, after which iOS and Android fees will drop to 15 percent.
Twitter has also announced that it will support tweets up to 10,000 characters in length with bold and italic text formatting.
Additionally, Twitter is phasing out its legacy blue badge verification program and introducing a monthly fee for users to have the badge under Twitter Blue. The transition will begin on April 1 and the last phase-out will be on April 20.
