Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has spoken out to clarify. This comes after reports that;
Kawira Mwangaza, the newly sworn-in county boss, allegedly paid millions to her husband, Murega, after he entertained guests during her swearing-in ceremony.
The governor has reacted angrily, accusing her opponents of spreading lies. She revealed that the transition committee never contacted her husband to perform and that he was never paid.
“Clarification on the lies spread by our political opponents.” I didn’t take office until I was sworn in. So I couldn’t have initiated or approved any payment.
The Transition Committee, chaired by the outgoing Meru County secretary and Meru County Commissioner representing the National Government, budgeted for the inauguration ceremony.
