All is not lost as Kenya Simbas still stand a chance of qualifying for the 2023 Rugby World Cup, thanks to the Repechage tournament scheduled for November.
Kenya lost the Rugby World Cup ticket to Namibia with a 36-0 defeat in France on Sunday. Prior the Sunday’s humiliation, Simbas had edged Uganda in the quarter-final before brushing aside Algeria in the Rugby Africa Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
The Paul Odera’s Simbas will join the European outfit Portugal, either of Tonga or Hong Kong and one of Chile or the United States in the tournament that will be played in a round robin format.
The Repechage tourney will take place in November 2022 in a yet-to-be-confirmed venue whereby, the winner of the tournament will be placed in Group C alongside Wales, Australia, Georgia and Fiji in the World Cup, which will be held in September next year in France.
