Azimio, the umoja Raila Odinga, a Kenya coalition party presidential candidate, is currently engaged in a high-profile political battle with deputy president William Ruto over President Uhuru Kenyatta’s succession as head of state.
Today, the former prime minister is on his way to Kisii, one of his previously perceived traditional strongholds, with tensions running high among his lieutenants.
Kisii has two ODM splinter groups, one led by governor James Ongwae and the other by gubernatorial candidate Simba arati. There have also been reports that the tour will be canceled entirely.
However, the ODM party’s Kisii branch chairperson has distanced itself from the reports and stated that Odinga’s tour will proceed as planned.
