The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) denied Irungu Kangata, the main man of Deputy President William Samoei Ruto and his United Democratic Alliance UDA party in Muranga County, clearance.
According to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Irungu Kangata’s running mate, Winnie Mwangi, did not resign within the legal deadlines, disqualifying Kangata from the race.
Irungu Kangata has since gone to court to request that the IEBC clear him. Kangata claims she resigned on time. Kangata is the UDA party’s candidate for Muranga County Governor.
