Political leaders appear to have ramped up their vote-getting efforts, staging huge rallies in towns to pitch their political goals ahead of the general election on August 8th.
Yesterday’s gathering in Eldoret by Deputy President William Samoei Ruto appears to have sketched a political road map for United Democratic Alliance party leaders who are now looking for support outside the Rift Valley region. As political analysts put it, it was a “ground breaking” ceremony for UDA.
The DP is scheduled to travel to Migori County to attend a church service at Isebania parish in Kuria West. According to a morning brief posted on Twitter by citizen tv, the second-in-command will make a stopover in Getongoya at 11 a.m.
He’ll then speak to Migori locals in Kehonja Town before heading to Kuria East, with many scheduled stops along the way. If he can garner support from the region, which was formerly an ODM vote bloc, this may be a big victory.
