Samidoh and Wife Steps in After Nyandarua Residents Cry Foul Over Marauding Hippos

On Thursday, Mugithi sensation Samuel Muchoki, also known as Samidoh, and his wife Edday Nderitu, distributed food items to vulnerable families who were affected by hippo invasion in Nyandarua County.

During the distribution in Kasuku area, Samidoh highlighted that marauding hippos from neighboring Lake Ol Bollosat have been causing destruction to crops, which has had a significant impact on farming activities.

He noted that the residents in the area are facing numerous challenges, including drought caused by minimal rainfall, and called on the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to intervene and control the animals.

According to Ms. Njeri Ngunjiri, a resident of Weru Ward, some farmers have stopped planting due to the fear of losses caused by the hippos. She emphasized the need for the government to take action to address the issue.

The food donations were made through the Guitar ya Samidoh initiative, and the artist emphasized the importance of supporting those affected by drought’s adverse effects.
