The court dismisses the UDA. The case of MP Osoro seeks to prevent the Supreme Court from declaring Raila as President.

Following the much-anticipated 9th August 2022 general elections, several petitioners have petitioned the Kenyan Supreme Court on several issues pertaining to the presidential elections, in which independent electoral and boundaries commission chairman Wafula Chebukati declared deputy president William Ruto as the president elect.

The Azimio La Umoja coalition has filed a case at the Supreme Court challenging the presidential elections, while outgoing Gatundu South member of parliament Moses Kuria has filed a case asking for Raila Odinga’s petition to be dismissed because his allies caused chaos at Kenya’s Bomas.

South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro, along with three other petitioners, petitioned the Kenyan High Court to order the Supreme Court not to declare Raila Odinga president. The high court of Kenya dismissed the case, arguing that the supreme court is the most superior court and that the high court of Kenya cannot direct the apex court.
