A photo of Aisha Jumwa walking away from the Kilifi Tallying Center after a crushing defeat has surfaced.

A photo of Aisha Jumwa, the UDA Party’s candidate for governor of Kilifi, crying after a crushing defeat has gone viral. The outspoken Ruto ally and one of the front-runners for the Kilifi governor’s seat had told her supporters that she would succeed Amason Kingi and fill the position.

Gideon Mung’aro of the Kilifi ODM defeated Aisha Jumwa of the UDA to win the position. Mung’aro received 143,773 votes, while Jumwa received 65,893. George Kithi of the Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) party finished third with 64,321 votes.

Ng’edo Murugu, a well-known political commentator, shared a photo of Aisha Jumwa, who appeared upset after learning that Gideon Mungaro had defeated her by a wide margin. Despite the fact that the ODM Party’s leader appears to be dominating regional presidential votes, Aisha Jumwa was one of Raila Odinga’s most vocal detractors.
