Raila Odinga, the head of the ODM party, has been at the forefront of seeking people’s support in his campaign to be the next president, with the region’s support. However, as things stand, even Azimio aspirants in Mt Kenya have begun to panic, conceding that UDA appears invincible. They are hoping that people will buy into their agenda, despite the fact that the majority of Kenyans support William Ruto.
Anita Mbae is one of those leaders vying for her county’s support to be the next women’s Azimio representative. Anita, on the other hand, agrees that it is a tall order, but she is hopeful that the Jubilee Party, like Azimio, would totally support her.
Anita is the only person in Tharaka Nithi County who supports Azimio, while the majority of the other officials, including the governor, are staunch supporters of the UDA. This has left her perplexed, but she is confident that her manifesto will catapult her to the next level.
Anita is clear that, while she supports Raila Odinga, she is not alone, as all other leaders, primarily elected, are members of the UDA. This has exposed her to criticism and embarrassment, but she remains hopeful that her manifesto will sell to the public, despite the fact that the odds are stacked against Odinga.
